About Me

I’m Ashley, a compassionate and detailed oriented UX/UI designer with a background in Computer Science/Web Development and seven years of experience as an entrepreneur, designing and refining physical products. Still curious? Read on ...

My journey in the field of product design taught me the importance of empathy, listening, and problem-solving—skills that now shape my approach to UX.

Transforming frustrating or unsafe products into intuitive, user-friendly solutions is the most rewarding part of my work. Seeing firsthand how thoughtful design improves people’s lives has deepened my passion for creating seamless, meaningful and user-centered user experiences.

My product design journey started when I helped a friend brand and design a website for her school uniform business in Australia. A few months later, I redesigned the site based on customer feedback, resulting in increased sales and happier customers.

Through this experience, I learned the importance of empathy, active listening, and early iteration—long before I even knew what UX design was.

Later on, during my master’s studies, I was introduced to UX design and read The Design of Everyday Things by Donald A. Norman for the first time. I was fascinated by the concept, and from that moment, I began to see the world differently.

Then a few years ago, I started a business designing and importing home goods which again confirmed the fact that people don’t buy products or services, they buy emotions and experiences.

Transforming frustrating or unsafe products into intuitive, user-friendly solutions helped me see firsthand how thoughtful design improved people’s lives. This deepened my passion for creating seamless, meaningful and user-centered user experiences.

Having lived in more than 10 cities across three continents, I’ve developed a strong sense of problem-solving, adaptability, and cultural awareness, allowing me to approach design with an open-minded perspective while also enhancing my communication skills.

Now, in the world of UX design, my goal remains the same: to identify pain points and craft equitable designs that enhance usability, accessibility, and overall satisfaction.

When I'm not working, I enjoy hiking and listening to a podcast or an audiobook. I also love making charcuterie boards, and hanging out with friends and family. Thanks for stopping by!
